How is a flag patch made?

  • Embroidered patches Thread stitched onto a twill backing — the oldest patch method and still the most recognisable. An embroidered patch has real texture: you can feel the design under your thumb, and the raised stitching catches light in a way no printed surface does.
  • Woven patches Woven patches are made on a loom from threads far finer than embroidery uses. The result is flat and smooth rather than raised, and it holds detail that embroidery physically cannot — small lettering, thin lines, tight logos.
  • PVC and rubber patches Soft PVC moulded into your shape, flat or in raised 3D relief. PVC is the choice when a badge has to survive weather, water and cleaning — it does not absorb, does not fray, and wipes clean.

Which backing should you choose?

  • Velcro patches — Hook-and-loop backing, so a badge comes off in a second and goes back on somewhere else. Velcro is why tactical kit, flight suits and workwear carry patches that change with the task rather than with the garment.
  • Iron-on patches — A heat-activated film on the back of the patch. Press it with an iron and the adhesive melts into the weave of the fabric. It is the fastest way to get a badge onto a garment and needs no sewing skill at all.
  • Sew-on patches — No backing at all — just the patch, stitched on. It is the oldest method and still the most permanent, and it is the only one that works on the materials the others cannot touch.
  • Adhesive patches — Peel-and-stick backing for surfaces that are not fabric, and for uses that are not permanent — event kit, equipment cases, display boards and helmets.

Licensing Can you make a flag patch for any country?

Yes. Tell us the country and the size, and whether you want it embroidered, woven or PVC.

Orientation Do you make reversed flags for the right shoulder?

Yes — the mirrored version, so the flag reads as though flying forward when worn on the right arm.

Lead time How long does an order take?

Production runs 3 to 6 business days, counted from the moment you approve the proof — not from when you place the order. Shipping is on top of that and depends on the destination and the service you choose.

Timing When does the clock start?

At proof approval. Nothing is cut, stitched or struck until you have seen the digital proof and said yes, so a slow approval moves the finish date with it.

Destinations Where do you ship?

We make to order and ship from Dubai across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain, and to the United States and United Kingdom. Ask us for anywhere else — it is usually possible.

Minimums Is there a minimum order?

Not on embroidered patches — order one if one is what you need. Moulded and struck lines carry a minimum because they need tooling, and the quote states it before you commit to anything.

File types What artwork do you need from me?

Vector is ideal — AI, EPS or PDF. We also take PNG, JPG, WEBP, TIFF, PSD, GIF and ZIP, and honestly a clear photograph of a sketch is enough to quote from and start on.

No artwork What if I do not have artwork yet?

Send the idea — a rough drawing, a reference you like, or a description. We draw it up and send it back as a proof for you to approve before anything is made.

Proofs Do I see it before it is made?

Always. You get a free digital proof and nothing goes into production until you approve it. If it is not right, say so and we change it.

Contact How do I reach a person?

WhatsApp on +971 52 933 2878 is fastest, or email info@custompik.com. A person answers — there is no ticket queue between you and the people making the thing.

Quotes How do I get a price?

Send the artwork and the quantity and we come back with a fixed quote. Nothing on this site is charged automatically and you pay nothing up front.

Problems What if something arrives wrong?

Tell us and send a photograph. The proof you approved is the reference — if what arrived does not match it, that is on us to put right.
