Reorders How do we keep reorders consistent?
Treat the approved proof as the specification and send it with every reorder. The colours, size and backing are all on it, so the next run is made to the same reference.
Backing Sew-on or velcro for uniforms?
Sew-on when the badge belongs to one garment for its whole life. Velcro when badges move between shirts, jackets and shifts — one loop panel on each garment, one hook-backed badge per person.
Names Can each person have their name on a patch?
Yes, usually as a separate name tape so the main badge stays one design. Send the names as a typed list or spreadsheet with the order.
Minimums Is there a minimum for uniform patches?
Not for embroidered patches. A single replacement badge for a new starter is a normal order.
Criteria What should I look for in a custom patch company?
Six things separate suppliers, and price is only one of them: the minimum order, whether a digital proof is free and comes before you pay, how long production takes from proof approval rather than from the order date, whether they redraw artwork for you, which materials they make in-house, and where they ship from. Ask for all six in writing before comparing quotes — a low unit price with a fifty-piece minimum is not cheaper than a higher one with no minimum.
